Description of prohibited goods:
The Quickie Line Release is a water skiing line release system, which is intended to be a safety device, which the skier can use to quickly release the towline, and prevent being dragged under water.

Hazard:
The line release system malfunctions and fails to release the ski line. The design fault could cause the skier to become entrapped under water and could possibly drown.

Suppliers:
The sole manufacturer of the Quickie Line Release closed its business.

Action taken by CAV:
Introduced a permanent ban order in Victorian Government Gazette No. G 17, 8 May 1991.

CAV warning:
A person or corporation must not supply banned products. Penalties apply.
