Functions

The functions of the Council are:

• to monitor the operation of the Funeral Act 2006 and the regulations
• to monitor the provision of services by the funeral industry and developments in the funeral industry generally
• to advise the Minister:
  - in respect of matters relating to the provision of funeral services
  - on any matter referred to the Council by the Minister
• to make recommendations to the Minister:
  - on matters affecting the operation of this Act and the regulations
  - on matters relating to the provision of funeral services
