Australian Competition and Consumer Commission - Consumer and Business Directory
The CBD provides a one stop shop of links and contacts for consumers and small business. It is a database of contact details for organisations that provide assistance or advice to consumers and small business. It amalgamates the ACCC’s “Other agency contacts” and the “Australian Consumer Handbook Online” which was previously available from the Consumers Online website.

Financial Ombudsman Service - Australia - 1300 780 808
The Financial Ombudsman Services (FOS) independently and impartially resolves disputes between consumers, including some small businesses, and participating financial services providers. It can help resolve disputes through negotiation and conciliation. It can also make decisions that are binding on participating financial services providers. FOS departments include: Banking & Finance Division, Investments, Life Insurance and Superannuation Division, and General Insurance Division.

Will enquire into or investigate complaints concerning administrative actions taken by any government department, public statutory body or by officers or employees of any municipality to which the the Ombudsman Act 1973 applies. Will also ensure that complaints concerning Police conduct are properly investigated.

Investigates complaints about Commonwealth departments' and authorities' actions and decisions to see if they are unjust, unlawful, disciminatory or just plain unfair.

Protects people's right of access to their health information, conciliates between consumers and providers of health services, and assists in the resolution of complaints.

Provides private health insurance members with an independent service for health insurance problems and enquiries.

Insurance Law Service - 1300 663 464 (weekdays 9:30am to 4:30pm)
Provides free legal services to Australian consumers seeking advice on insurance law (including home and contents, consumer credit, income protection, life, tenancy, motor vehicle and third party uninsured debts) or in resolving a dispute with an insurer.

The TIO investigates and helps resolve complaints about the provision or supply (or failure to provide or supply) telephone and Internet services.

The EWOV has the power to investigate and resolve disputes between Victorian electricity, gas and water customers and their provider.
