Consumer Credit Fund grant applications now closed
Applications to the Consumer Credit Fund (CCF) Grants Program are now closed.
No further CCF grants are anticipated following the introduction of the Australian Consumer Law in January 2011, and the establishment of a new fund related to that legislation, the Victorian Consumer Law Fund (VCLF).
Consumer Affairs Victoria expects to eventually announce a new grants program funded through the VCLF once the funds held by the VCLF are sufficient to support a grants program. Income for the VCLF is to be generated mainly from penalties payable under the Australian Consumer Law.
A commencement date for the new VCLF grants program is yet to be determined. We will publish further information on this website when it is available.
Consumer Credit Fund grant purposes
The CCF was established by the Credit (Administration) Act 1984.
CCF grants were for the purposes of providing:
- education services about credit
- education, advice or assistance to persons to whom credit has been, is or may be provided under credit contracts or
- research about the use of credit.
