To wind up a patriotic fund, trustees must:
- notify the Director of Consumer Affairs Victoria that they intend to do so. Submit a Change of patriotic funds details (PDF, 28KB)
- within 90 days of the date of the fund being wound up, provide to the director:
- an audited statement of income and expenditure of the fund for the year (or part) ending on the date the fund is wound up
- an audited balance sheet, at the date the fund was wound up.
Surplus funds
There may be surplus funds remaining in the patriotic fund account at the time that it is wound up. These will need to be transferred to the trustees of another patriotic fund or to an organisation that assists veterans or their dependants.
