Air Australia in administration - News alert

« Back to listing

17 February 2012

Air Australia has ceased operations and entered into voluntary administration.

KordaMentha has been appointed as administrator.

All Air Australia flights have been suspended, and KordaMentha advises it is highly unlikely there will be any flights in the short to medium term. Travellers therefore need to make alternative arrangements.

What to do if you have Air Australia tickets

Option 1: Credit card chargeback

If you paid by credit card, you may be able to claim a chargeback from your card issuer. Contact your card issuer or financial institution as soon as possible to make a chargeback request.

Option 2: Travel insurance

If you have travel insurance, contact your insurer for assistance with alternative travel arrangements and any claims for compensation that may be available under your policy.

Option 3: Registration with KordaMentha

Due to the voluntary administration of Air Australia, customers seeking repayment can become unsecured creditors. This means you are entitled to register a claim for a refund with KordaMentha.
