1 October 2012

Older Victorians can get free information and advice on retirement village living and other consumer issues by visiting our stand during the Victorian Seniors Festival, which opens at Federation Square on Sunday.

Consumer Affairs Victoria is taking part in the festival, featuring opening day festivities, including music, performances and displays, at Federation Square from 10:30 am - 4:00 pm.

The festival runs until Sunday, 14 October and is expected to attract thousands of visitors. Festival hubs are located at the Melbourne and Bendigo town halls, and the Ballarat Mechanics Institute.

You can visit us at our display stands at each festival hub for advice on seniors’ rights and responsibilities on key issues.

Our staff will also present two information sessions on retirement village living and travelling con men at each festival hub. See below for details.

This year the festival is celebrating 30 years and has an exciting program offering more than 1000 free and low-cost events, performances, activities, information sessions and special offers across Victoria.

The festival is the state’s major annual event for older Victorians; it is funded by the Victorian Government and run by the Department of Health to thank, celebrate and recognise seniors for their ongoing contribution to the community.
