Energy Saver Incentive
The Energy Saver Incentive (ESI) is designed to support energy efficiency improvements and greenhouse gas reductions. The related Act and Regulations are maintained by the Department of Primary Industries (DPI), and the Essential Services Commission (ESC) is responsible for administering the scheme.
Under the scheme, all electricity producers are fined unless they reduce their emissions by a certain amount, or buy certificates (carbon credits).
