Update details (change of circumstances or contact details) - estate agents

Individual licensed estate agents – any change of:

• names (individual and trading)
• addresses (residential, registered, principal office, branch, email, internet)
• telephone numbers
• employment with another estate agency business 
• partnerships with other licensed estate agents
• commencing or ceasing as a sole trader.

Estate agents - change of details (myCAV)

Within 14 days after any change

Company licensed estate agents – any change of:

• company name or trading name
• addresses (registered, principal office, branch, email, internet)
• telephone numbers
• directors of the company
• the officer in effective control
• branch manager
• licensed employees.

Within 14 days after any change

Employment of agents’ representatives:

• starting or ceasing employment
• change of working hours.

You do not need to send eligibility documents relating to agents’ representatives to the Business Licensing Authority. These documents must be kept in the estate agency business’s records.

Within seven days of starting, ceasing or changing hours.

Short-term managers or temporary managers

When a licensee, officer in effective control or branch manager will be absent from the principal or branch office for:

1. more than seven days, but less than 30 days, you must nominate another licensed estate agent or agent’s representative in writing to manage the office during their absence
2. more than 30 days, you must advise of the nominated estate agent or agent’s representative to manage the office during the absence. If the Business Licensing Authority is satisfied that the nominated person is capable of managing the estate agency business, they may approve the nominated person to manage the office for a specified period.

1. You do not need to notify the Business Licensing Authority but the licensed estate agent must keep a copy of the letter, which nominates the short-term manager for that specified period.
2. At least 14 days before the proposed short-term manager starts managing the office.
