You should provide your mobile phone number and forwarding address on the Bond Claim form because if the form is:
- rejected, or the funds are retained, the Residential Tenancies Bond Authority (RTBA) will notify you by sending an SMS to the mobile phone number provided. (A sample SMS is: 'The Residential Tenancies Bond Authority could not process a Repayment Claim on your bond. For details, contact your Agent/Landlord who has received a notice.')
- accepted and processed, but your bank account details on the form are not clear or have been altered, or your signature does not match the one in the RTBA's registry, the RTBA will send a non-negotiable cheque to your forwarding address. If you do not provide a forwarding address, the RTBA will retain the funds in your name.
