Who is responsible for TV aerials in a rental home?

Your landlord does not have to provide a TV antenna or aerial with a rental property, because it is not considered an essential service. However, if one is provided, your landlord must maintain it.

If you cannot agree with your landlord about an antenna issue, you can apply for a ruling from the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT).

As Victoria's consumer affairs regulator, we help landlords, agents and tenants understand their rights and responsibilities.
