Consumer Affairs Victoria staff will be on hand during this year’s Law Week, to answer your questions about renting.
Whether you have questions about bonds, condition reports, repairs or other renting matters, our staff can provide information and further resources, such as our various print guides for renters and landlords/owners.
In 2015-16, we responded to nearly 70,000 renting-related calls, the main issues being:
- termination rights (12,792 contacts)
- repairs and maintenance (8,352)
- bonds (4,190)
- hearings and applications (3,216)
- rights of entry (2,640).
Look out for our pop-up stand at the Law Week Festival Hub at Federation Square in Melbourne, on Tuesday, 16 May, from noon to 2:00 pm.
Staff from the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal will also be available with information on how to resolve a renting dispute.
Consumer Affairs Victoria is a proud partner of Law Week, which is run by the Victoria Law Foundation.
Law Week runs from 15 May to 21 May. For a full list of events, please visit the Everyday-Law website.
