Five Victorian building regulators working together on the Build Aware program will inspect building, construction and demolition sites in the Casey, Dandenong and Frankston regions this week to ensure operators are complying with the law.
Inspectors from Consumer Affairs Victoria, the Victorian Building Authority, WorkSafe Victoria, Energy Safe Victoria and the Environment Protection Authority Victoria will visit sites between Monday 19 February and Friday 23 February.
The inspections will check that people working on sites understand their obligation to comply with building, construction, environment, plumbing, and occupational health and safety laws and regulations.
The regions chosen for this program are all areas experiencing significant growth. Further Build Aware inspections will take place in other regional centres in Victoria throughout 2018.
