An unregistered builder has been fined $750 after admitting to carrying out home renovations.
David Tromans, of Corinella pleaded guilty in Melbourne Magistrate’s Court on January 25 to four offences under the Domestic Building Contracts Act 1995.
Mr Tromans entered into a verbal contract worth $5000 to renovate a couple’s bathroom and kitchen.
After the work began, the contract price increased and there was a dispute about the quality of the work.
Mr Tromans had previously paid $6306 in compensation after being ordered to do so by the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal.
The Court ordered, without conviction, that Mr Tromans, pay a $750 fine and costs of $1043.
