A former real estate agent has been ordered to pay $10,000 to the court fund after pleading guilty in the Melbourne Magistrates Court to 28 charges relating to breaches of the Estate Agents Act 1980 and the Residential Tenancies Act 1997.

John Barresi failed to lodge, within the required time, money paid by clients in the appropriate trust account and pay bond money received to the Residential Tenancies Bond Authority.

On 21 March 2011, Melbourne Magistrates Court ordered that Mr Barresi pay $10,000 to the court fund and placed him on a one-year good behaviour order, without conviction
