A State of Emergency has been declared in Victoria due to the serious risk to public health posed by coronavirus (COVID-19). The situation is frequently changing and Victorians understandably have many questions. In response to increased enquiries, Consumer Affairs Victoria has compiled information about how the pandemic affects areas we regulate.

A new page at consumer.vic.gov.au/coronavirusandrights covers:

  • evictions
  • renters in crisis
  • inspections and auctions
  • owners corporation annual general meetings
  • products and services
  • price gouging and resellers
  • event cancellations and refunds
  • sports memberships
  • scams relating to coronavirus (COVID-19).

Due to the regularly changing nature of circumstances in Victoria, we will update this page as often as possible.
