An unlicensed motor car trader who offered to sell 20 cars has been fined $2000 by Broadmeadows Magistrate’s Court.

Martin Briggs, of Gisborne, was found guilty, without conviction, of contravening the Motor Car Traders Act 1986. Consumer Affairs Victoria alleged that the contraventions occurred between 30 April 2009 and 3 August 2010.

The court ordered Mr Briggs to pay a $2000 fine and costs of $529.68.
