Background

We proposed new regulations to replace the Retirement Villages (Contractual Arrangements) Regulations 2006, which were due to expire on 31 July 2017.

The Retirement Villages (Contractual Arrangements) Regulations 2017 were made on 4 July 2017 and will come into operation on 30 July 2017.

Consultation process

The RIS was open for public consultation from 29 March to 28 April 2017. We received three public submissions, all of which have been considered and responded to.
