The Retirement Housing Assistance and Advocacy Program (RHAAP) is a state-wide service that supports older, financially disadvantaged Victorians who live in retirement housing.
Retirement housing is defined as a retirement village or rental village (both 'for profit' and 'not for profit'), or a permanent residency in a caravan or residential park.
What is the RHAAP?
The RHAAP is provided by the Housing for the Aged Action Group.
The RHAAP includes the following two components:
- the Retirement Housing Assistance Services (RHAS), comprising of retirement housing advice and casework services for community workers, and
- retirement housing campaigns and media, policy and advocacy work.
Who is eligible for RHAAP services?
The RHAS casework is available for older Victorians who are financially disadvantaged and are:
- residents living in a retirement and rental village (both 'for profit' and 'not for profit'), or
- permanent residents of caravan or residential parks, who have complex retirement housing matters.
