Dispute resolution through the Dispute Settlement Centre of Victoria (DSCV)

Owners corporation managers, lot owners and occupiers do not have to use the owners corporation grievance procedure. You can:

  • contact us for information and advice
  • seek dispute resolution assistance from DSCV.

DSCV may suggest that you use the internal dispute resolution process and may decline to consider your matter if you have not done so.

It is not compulsory to seek assistance from DSCV before applying to the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT). However, DSCV may be able to help resolve the issue more quickly and at a lower cost.

If DSCV decides to undertake dispute resolution, they will contact the other party and try to negotiate an outcome.

DSCV can only try to resolve a dispute if all parties agree to take part in this process.
