If you have lost money in a scam, and you paid by credit card, you may be able to seek a chargeback from your bank or credit card provider. A chargeback is a reversal of a charge on your credit card and is similar to a refund. For more information, view our Chargeback page.

If you are suffering financial stress due to money lost in a scam, you can call the toll-free National Debt Helpline on 1800 007 007.

Beyondblue provides support (including a hotline) for people suffering from depression or anxiety. You can call the hotline on 1300 22 46 36. 

Lifeline runs a 24-hour suicide prevention and crisis support hotline - 13 11 14.
