Calculating rent

It is important for tenants to understand how much their monthly rent will be, as many agreements require monthly payments. Tenants, residents, landlords and owners may also need to calculate rent for different periods; for example, when an agreement ends part-way through the usual rent payment period.

For information on how rent is calculated, visit the Rent calculator page on the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT) website.

You can also convert weekly rent to daily, fortnightly, calendar monthly, six-monthly and yearly amounts using the calculator in our RentRight smartphone app.
