Housing for the Aged Action Group (HAAG)
This independent, government-funded group supports older people with accommodation matters.
HAAG's retirement housing information worker helps vulnerable and disadvantaged people in retirement accommodation, especially those who are confused, intimidated or fearful about their living circumstances.
The worker can help people:
- understand relevant laws and contracts, but cannot provide legal advice
- complete Consumer Affairs Victoria forms
- represent themselves at VCAT.

Residents of Retirement Villages Victoria (RRVV)
RRVV is a member-based, volunteer organisation that represents the interests of residents of Retirement Villages in Victoria.
Some of the important ways in which RRVV supports its members include:
- Providing retirement living information and support.
- Providing a quarterly newsletter with up-to-date information on relevant retirement village issues.
- Undertaking Retirement Village visits across Victoria.
- Assisting its members to resolve their Village problems and concerns.
- Meeting with government representatives, politicians and their staff to improve their understanding of retirement village living.
- Contributing to policy debate and to advocate on behalf of retirement village residents.
- Promoting continuous improvement by Operators in the retirement village sector.
