Anthony Lee, 36, of Melbourne, and two of his companies have been restrained from certain business practices, following an interim injunction granted at the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court.

Consumer Affairs Victoria is also currently taking separate action against Mr Lee after an investigation into another of his companies, Bluebell Conveyancing Australia Pty Ltd.

As part of the earlier investigation into Mr Lee, Consumer Affairs Victoria discovered that Fair Finance Group (ACN 151 932 553) was offering legal, financial, property, migration and building services that it was not licensed or authorised to provide, via its website (fairgroup.com.au).

Consumer Affairs Victoria also discovered that the website of another company operated by Mr Lee, Fair Financial Pty Ltd (ACN 148 824 711), contained a statement to the effect that Mr Lee was authorised as an Australian Financial Services representative by the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC). Checks with ASIC indicated this was not the case.

Under the court’s order, Mr Lee and Fair Finance Group have been restrained from offering services they are not entitled to provide and representing that they are authorised to offer certain services, until they are suitably authorised to do so.

Mr Lee and Fair Financial were also ordered to remove content from fairfinancial.com.au that stated Mr Lee was an authorised Australian Financial Services representative until Mr Lee is suitably authorised.
