The Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal has affirmed a decision by the Motor Car Traders Claims Committee to pay a $23,000 claim against the Motor Car Traders Guarantee Fund.
In 2012, the committee, which administers the fund, decided to refund $23,000 to a consumer who claimed Melbourne business Northside Motor Wholesale Pty Ltd had breached an agreement to terminate a car sale contract and to refund his money.
Northside Motor Wholesale’s motor car trader’s licence was cancelled as a result of the committee's decision.
The business applied to VCAT for a review, but the tribunal affirmed the committee’s decision.
