New education rules for conveyancers will lift professional standards across the industry. The dates for when you need to act vary.
The biggest change is a new annual continuing professional development (CPD) requirement.
Read about the changes below. We’ll provide more detail about each change closer to the start date.
What’s changing
Fees
From 25 November 2026, modest fee changes will apply to some licences.
Some conveyancer fees will decrease. This reflects efficiency improvements since fees were last set in 2018, including the move to more digital services and streamlined processing.
Annual continuing professional development
From 1 April 2027 you must complete annual continuing professional development (CPD) to maintain your licence.
The CPD will cover mandatory activities determined by the Business Licensing Authority (BLA) and will include written assessments.
CPD is mandatory. Your licence may be cancelled if you do not meet the requirements.
