An incorporated association may have its registration cancelled:
- if it is not operating
- if it is voluntarily wound up
- by Certificate of the Registrar.
If an association is listed in the documents on this page, that does not mean that the association has been cancelled. To check the registration status of an association, view our Search for an incorporated association page.
An association listed for cancellation under Not operating and Voluntary will also be in lists published in gazettes. To access a copy, visit the Gazettes page on the Victoria Government Gazette website.
If the Registrar of Incorporated Associations believes an association is not operating, we send a request to show cause why it should not be cancelled.
For a list of these associations, download Pending cancellations of incorporated associations (Word, 3.6MB).
For a list of associations which have applied to voluntarily wind up, download Pending voluntary cancellations of incorporated associations (Word, 2MB).
Certificate of Registrar
The Registrar of Incorporated Associations issues a notice to some associations, if there are grounds under the Associations Incorporation Reform Act 2012 to wind up the association on the Registrar's certificate.
For a list of these associations, download Certificates of Registrar (Word, 91KB).
