Purpose

The purposes of the association are:

(1) To advocate for:
(a) A beautiful, liveable and accessible city.
(b) Integrated transport and land use planning.
(c) Infrastructure that enables people to safely access any property in the City of Yarra, irrespective of whether they choose to walk, cycle, use public transport or drive.
(d) A best-practice urban forest, footpath network, bicycle network, and public transport network.
(e) 20-minute neighbourhoods.
(f) 30 km/h superblocks.
(g) Levelaccesspublictransportstops.
(h) Parking maximums.
(i) Demand responsive driving charges.
(j) Demand responsive charges for parking meters.
(k) Market pricing for on-street parking permits.
(l) Fast, low-cost, effective community engagement via a City of Yarra smartphone application.

To publish:
(a) Ideas for improvement.
(b) The evidence base for our policy proposals.

(3) To facilitate:
(a) Resident, ratepayer and stakeholder involvement in government decision making.

Please note: From 1 July 2018, if a Victorian Incorporated Association is also registered with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC), they are exempt from lodging annual statements to Consumer Affairs Victoria.
