Easy English factsheets

What is Easy English?

Easy English is more accessible for people who have difficulty reading and understanding written information. It uses:

• clear, simple language
• one idea per sentence
• short sentences
• direct language (readers are addressed as 'you')
• pictures, logos or photographs to add meaning to the text
• minimal punctuation.
