Consumer Affairs Victoria has started criminal action against Zehar Saoud, 32, of Truganina, for alleged breaches of the Motor Car Traders Act 1986.
We allege that between June 2017 and March 2018, Mr Saoud ran a car trading business when he did not hold a motor car trader’s licence.
We allege that Mr Saoud bought the cars at an auction house, then on-sold 24 of them.
Generally, if a person deals in four or more cars in a 12-month period, they need a licence.
The court action follows an investigation we undertook after a consumer complaint.
The matter is listed for hearing at the Werribee Magistrates’ Court in December 2020.
