How to update your licence details

You can update your registration details at any time. Complete and lodge either:

The forms are compatible with the following web browsers:

When to update your licence details

Companies

You must notify the Business Licensing Authority (BLA) in writing immediately if the company or any director, associate or person listed in its annual statement is charged with an offence involving fraud, dishonesty, violence or drug trafficking punishable on conviction by three months or more in prison.

You must also notify the BLA in writing immediately if:

  • you register an additional business name. All business names that your company trades under must be registered with the Australian Securities and Investment Commission (ASIC). For more information, visit the Business names section of the ASIC website.
  • any director becomes a represented person under the Guardianship and Administration Act 1986
  • a director becomes insolvent under administration
  • an associate of a director is or becomes insolvent under administration or externally administered
  • the company is externally administered
  • the company or any director, associate or person listed in its annual statement has a licence, registration or permission to carry on a regulated occupation or business suspended, cancelled or disqualified
  • there is a change in where the company carries on business
  • the address where the BLA will serve notices changes
  • there is a change in the company’s directors or associates
  • the company has ceased or intends to cease trading as a second-hand dealer or pawnbroker, and wants to surrender the registration or endorsement.

Individuals

You must notify the BLA in writing immediately if you:

  • change business premises
  • change the address where the BLA will serve notices on you
  • register an additional business name. All business names that you trade under must be registered with ASIC. For more information, visit the Business names section of the ASIC website.
  • have a change in your associates or their contact details
  • become a represented person under the Guardianship and Administration Act 1986
  • become insolvent under administration
  • become director of a company which has, within the past five years in Australia or elsewhere, been convicted or found guilty of an offence involving fraud, dishonesty, violence or drug trafficking punishable on conviction by three months or more in prison
  • have an associate who becomes insolvent under administration
  • have an associate who becomes externally administered.

You must also notify the BLA in writing immediately if you or an associate:

  • are convicted or found guilty in Australia or elsewhere of an offence involving fraud, dishonesty, violence or drug trafficking punishable on conviction by three months or more in prison
  • have a licence, registration or permission to carry on a regulated occupation or business suspended, cancelled or subject to disqualification
  • have ceased or intend to cease trading as a second-hand dealer or pawnbroker and want to surrender the registration or endorsement.
